Directed by Koratala Shiva, Acharya is one of the most anticipated and awaited movies of Telugu Megastar Chiranjeevi and people were having huge expectations on the movie but the movie disappointed the viewers, the critics gave negative reviews and criticised the narration and the outdated screenplay. The fan base of Chiranjivi and Ram Charan helped the movie in the initial two days but this did not help further. Even on the Eid holiday, the Acharya movie did not see a growth in the collection. On Day 1, the movie collected 52 crores gross, out of which 35 crore was the distributor share, on Day 2 collected 13 crores, 8 crores on Day 3, 3 crores on Day 4, 1 crore on Day 5, and the total worldwide collection till date is 75 crore.
The growth in the collection is dwindling significantly with each passing day and the sale of tickets are poor in domestic and international areas except Telangana and the Acharya movie was made on a budget of 140 crores. The movie is bankrolled by Ram Charan Teja, Niranjan Reddy, and Anvesh Reddy under the banner of Konidela Production Company and Matinee Entertainment, and Mani Sharma has given the music, Tirru has done the cinematography, Naveen Nooli is the editor. The movie’s digital rights were sold to Amazon Prime India and had done a decent pre-release business. Today on the 6th day, the movie may earn 80 lakhs worldwide.
